Welcome
Hey, I’m Kenzy, I help people gain confidence in their bodies through achieving their fitness and movement goals without restrictions.
Growing up, I experienced several eating disorders, depression, and loss of identity. With every low point in my life I have managed to build myself back stronger and tap into a more authentic version of myself through the power of movement + wellness. That is- addressing all parts of me in mind, body, spirit, and environment.
My fitness philosophy encompasses a holistic approach because everything can affect our fitness, not just the way we eat and exercise. Things like our stress, sleep, and social life can play massive roles in your overall well-being too.
My 3 Pillars of coaching:
Mindful Movement
I believe in a blend of weight lifting, Pilates, and any type of movement you enjoy.
The weights help to build muscle, maintain bone health, build overall strength, and lose fat. Lifting has made me more confident in myself because I show up each time trying to do better than the previous time which is a fun challenge while keeping me in shape. This confidence also comes from physically seeing how strong I am getting each time which in turn has made me more mentally tough. It is empowering to be strong enough to things in my day-to-day life on my own! That is something we should never take for granted.
Pilates is a type of strength training workout using body weight or resistance, similar to calisthenics. It helps me stay toned, relieve back and joint pain, prevent injuries, and improve my strength + flexibility. Pilates has helped me build a better relationship with my body because you do not necessarily lose fat from it which takes the “pressure” off of weight loss and makes me focus more on how I FEEL, ultimately making me more in tune with my body and mind. Pilates puts less stress on the body compared to weight lifting, so you can do it more often which makes it a convenient form of movement that still builds strength. It is a workout that burns the muscles, releases stagnant energy from the body, and leaves the mind feeling calm and rejuvenated.
The combination of weight lifting and Pilates has made me the strongest version of myself both physically and mentally. It has relieved my back pain, and has helped me reach my fitness goals sustainably. The gym builds muscle while the Pilates defines it and acts as a nice form of active recovery and mobility work. Pilates has made me more athletic and stronger which has translated to increased strength in the gym. The two go hand-in-hand in my opinion.
Intentional Nutrition
I do not believe in diets. Studies show 90% of them crash. I am a huge advocate for intuitive eating mixed with intentional eating. Intuitive eating is being able to listen to your body’s cues such as hunger and fullness cues. Intentional eating is knowing what your body specifically needs to function at its peak and help you reach your goals sustainably. I teach you how to find YOUR balance depending on your lifestyle, preferences, and goals through wellness coaching and programming things like yoga or journaling. This will show you how you can eat all the foods - even the less nutritious ones - all while reaching your goals.
“Not a diet, a lifestyle” mentality because we want results that LAST.
Personal Development
Building a body you love ultimately starts with loving yourself first. My body has changed a lot over the past few years. Having experienced body dysmorphia to many different degrees, I have learned that no matter what size you are, you will never truly be happy with your results until you love yourself from the inside, first. Confidence starts within.
Reaching your fitness goals also comes with building a healthy relationship with food and your body. This is why building “mindset habits” such as journaling, meditating, or yoga are essential. Just like we do squats to strengthen our glutes, we must do things to strengthen our minds.
At the end of the day, I help people get fitness results that LAST. Results that can’t only be seen, but felt. This makes it important for me as a coach to program things you genuinely enjoy doing while still challenging you to grow.
It all starts within. Let's grow together<3
